Before packing it’s best to clean your bedroom and have things sorted. This way it would be easier to decide what to pack first.

Moving is the best time to get rid of the stuff you don’t need any more. If there are any rarely used items, consider donating them or giving them to friends or neighbors. Throw away your unwanted stuff or schedule a garage sale to earn some money.

Prepare all the necessary moving boxes and supplies and start packing the least used items in the room.

Don’t be in a rush and take time for a couple of breaks.

Remember to put heavier items at the bottom of the boxes and keep lighter items on top. If there are any fragile items inside the box, fill the empty spaces with paper or packing peanuts.

Set aside your clothing and toiletries needed for the move trip and for the first nights in your new home. Pack them in a separate suitcase.

Start pack up with your clothing, jewelry and other personal belongings.

Begin with sorting what’s in the closets. If you don’t want wrinkles on your clothes, you may purchase wardrobe boxes to put them in. But if you don’t care much about wrinkles leave clothes on hangers and use medium to large-sized boxes lined with clean paper to fold them in.

Then continue with the drawers. Fold and pack clothes into medium-sized boxes.

Remember to label all boxes appropriately.
